Coffee the Rowdy Way!

There’s always coffee on around here. Literally, our socials are flooded with me contantly posting a picture of my favorite mugs or my afternoon cup while we finish chores. Ranch school families know I'll have my cup of coffee on hand (and likely set my mug down somehwere 😂)


Coffee isn’t just a drink for us—it’s part of how the day moves.


But somewhere along the way, people started accepting that coffee just…tastes burnt, makes you jittery, and sends you running to the bathroom.

Like that’s normal.

And really- It’s not.


The part no one really talks about:


Most coffee on the market is built for shelf life and price—not quality.

That means the beans going into your cup are often a mix of whatever made it through processing:overripe, underripe, broken, sometimes even slightly fermented.

Instead of tossing those out, they get blended in—and then roasted dark enough to hide it.

That deep, bitter, smoky flavor a lot of people associate with “strong coffee?” That’s not strength. That’s damage control.

When coffee is over-roasted like that, it loses everything that makes it good in the first place. The natural notes—caramel, floral, fruit—get burned off, leaving behind something flat and harsh.

So instead of tasting the bean, you’re tasting what’s been done to it. (Makes you think of your favorite convenient coffee shops signature burnt taste, ya?)


Yes, caffeine is a natural stimulant. And yes, it can have a mild diuretic effect.
