Soap or Detergent?

Why Our Soap Is Nothing Like What You’ll Find in the Store- And Why That’s a Very Good Thing
If you’ve ever flipped over a bar of commercial “soap” and tried to read the ingredient list, you might have been shocked to find it full of things you can’t pronounce. That’s because most store-bought soap isn’t really soap at all—it’s a detergent bar. Yep, the same kind of thing you use to wash your clothes.
At Rowdy Rooster Co., we do things differently—on purpose.

Our goat milk soap is the real deal. Handmade on our ranch from scratch using raw goat milk, rendered lard and tallow from our pasture-raised animals, and nourishing oils, each bar is a full-circle product of our land, our animals, and our hands. No shortcuts, no synthetic lather boosters, and no drying detergents.
Here’s why our soap is truly better for your skin—and your family:
Real Ingredients You Can Trust
We use farm-fresh raw goat milk straight from our goats, which is packed with skin-loving vitamins like A, D, and B12, plus natural lactic acid for gentle exfoliation. Our lard and tallow are rendered right here on the ranch from ethically raised animals, offering a rich, creamy lather that leaves your skin feeling clean, not stripped.
No Harsh Chemicals
Most commercial “soaps” contain sulfates, preservatives, and artificial fragrance oils—known skin irritants that can throw off your skin’s natural balance. Our bars are scented only with pure essential oils (or left completely unscented) and colored with clays, herbs, or charcoal. If it wouldn’t go on our babies’ skin, it doesn’t go into our soap.
Goat Milk Makes the Difference
Goat milk is incredibly gentle and hydrating, making it a great option for dry or sensitive skin. It’s naturally pH-balanced to your skin, and the fats and proteins help to nourish and repair the skin barrier. That’s something detergent bars just can’t do.
